حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْكَاتِبُ قَالَ قَالَ

لِي ابْنُ سِيرِينَ صَنَعْتُ سَيْفِي عَلَى سَيْفِ سَمُرَةَ وَقَالَ سَمُرَةُ صَنَعْتُ سَيْفِي عَلَى سَيْفِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَانَ حَنَفِيًّا

English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, ‘Uthmān ibn Sa‘d al-Kātib informed us, he said: Ibn Sīrīn said to me: I had my sword made according to the sword of Samurah. And Samurah said: I had my sword made according to the sword of the Prophet ﷺ, and it was of the Ḥanīfī (Yemeni) type.
