حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّث
َنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي سَلِيطٍ أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ عَلَى بَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ وَعَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ قِطْرِيٌّ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ غَيْرُهُ مُحْتَبٍ بِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ الْمُسْلِمُ أَخُو الْمُسْلِمِ لَا يَظْلِمُهُ وَلَا يَخْذُلُهُ التَّقْوَى هَاهُنَا وَيُشِيرُ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى صَدْرِهِ

English Translation
‘Abd al-Raḥmān narrated to us, ‘Abbād ibn Rāshid narrated to us, he said: I heard al-Ḥasan say: A man from Banū Salīṭ narrated to me: He passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who was sitting at the door of the mosque wearing a striped Qaṭarī garment with nothing else on, sitting in the iḥtibā’ position (hugging his knees). He could hear him saying: ‘The Muslim is the brother of the Muslim; he does not wrong him nor abandon him. Taqwā is here, taqwā is here — pointing to his chest.’
