حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَن سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَن أَبِيهِ عَن جَدِّهِ قَالَ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبَا مُوسَى وَمُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ فَقَالَ لَهُمَا يَسِّرَا وَلَا تُعَسِّرَا وَبَشِّرَا وَلَا تُنَفِّر
َا وَتَطَاوَعَا قَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا بِأَرْضٍ يُصْنَعُ فِيهَا شَرَابٌ مِنْ الْعَسَلِ يُقَالُ لَهُ الْبِتْعُ وَشَرَابٌ مِنْ الشَّعِيرِ يُقَالُ لَهُ الْمِزْرُ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us, he said: Shuʿbah narrated to us, from Saʿīd ibn Abī Burdah, from his father, from his grandfather who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Abū Mūsā and Muʿādh ibn Jabal to Yemen. He said to them: ‘Make things easy and do not make them difficult, give glad tidings and do not drive people away, cooperate and be in harmony.’ Abū Mūsā said: O Messenger of Allah, we are in a land where a drink is made from honey called al-bitʿ, and a drink from barley called al-mizr. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Every intoxicant is forbidden.’
