Hadith #116
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ قَالَ لَمَّا كَانَ ذَاكَ الْيَوْمُ رَكِبَ رَسُولُ
اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَاقَتَهُ ثُمَّ وَقَفَ فَقَالَ تَدْرُونَ أَيُّ يَوْمٍ هَذَا فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَى حَدِيثِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ وَقَالَ فِيهِ أَلَا لِيُبَلِّغْ الشَّاهِدُ الْغَائِبَ مَرَّتَيْنِ فَرُبَّ مُبَلَّغٍ هُوَ أَوْعَى مِنْ مُبَلِّغٍ مِثْلَهُ ثُمَّ مَالَ عَلَى نَاقَتِهِ إِلَى غُنَيْمَاتٍ فَجَعَلَ يَقْسِمُهُنَّ بَيْنَ الرَّجُلَيْنِ الشَّاةُ وَالثَّلَاثَةِ الشَّاةُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Bakra (may Allah be pleased with him) that on that day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mounted his she-camel and then stopped and said: 'Do you know what day this is?' — and he mentioned the meaning of the hadith of Ibn Abi 'Adi, and in it he said: 'Let those present convey this to those who are absent' — twice — 'for perhaps the one who receives the message understands it better than those who heard it directly.'
