Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ وَعَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِنِّي قُمْتُ رَمَضَانَ كُلَّهُ
قَالَ فَاللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَعْلَمُ أَخَشِيَ عَلَى أُمَّتِهِ أَنْ تُزَكِّيَ أَنْفُسَهَا قَالَ عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ فَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ أَخَشِيَ التَّزْكِيَةَ عَلَى أُمَّتِهِ أَوْ قَالَ لَا بُدَّ مِنْ نَوْمٍ أَوْ غَفْلَةٍ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Bakra (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'None of you should say: I stood in prayer throughout all of Ramadan.' Allah, Blessed and Exalted, knows best — whether he feared that his nation would praise themselves, or because there must inevitably be one who sleeps or is heedless.
