Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ عَن الْحَسَنِ عَن أَبِي بَكْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا تَوَاجَهَ الْمُسْلِمَانِ بِسَيْفَيْهِمَا وَكِلَاهُمَا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَق
ْتُلَ صَاحِبَهُ فَقَتَلَ أَحَدُهُمَا الْآخَرَ فَهُمَا فِي النَّارِ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا الْقَاتِلُ فَمَا بَالُ الْمَقْتُولِ قَالَ لِأَنَّهُ أَرَادَ قَتْلَ صَاحِبِهِ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Bakra (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When two Muslims face each other with their swords, both of them intending to kill the other, and one kills the other, both are in the Fire.' It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, this is the killer — but what about the killed?' He said: 'Because he intended to kill his companion.'
