Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ وَيُونُسُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ اللَّيْثِيِّ قَالَ قَدِمْنَا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ شَبَبَةٌ قَالَ فَأَقَمْنَا عِنْدَهُ نَحْوًا مِنْ عِشْرِينَ لَيْل
َةً فَقَالَ لَنَا لَوْ رَجَعْتُمْ إِلَى بِلَادِكُمْ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَحِيمًا فَعَلَّمْتُمُوهُمْ قَالَ سُرَيْجٌ وَأَمَرْتُمُوهُمْ أَنْ يُصَلُّوا صَلَاةَ كَذَا حِينَ كَذَا قَالَ يُونُسُ وَمُرُوهُمْ فَلْيُصَلُّوا صَلَاةَ كَذَا فِي حِينِ كَذَا وَصَلَاةَ كَذَا فِي حِينِ كَذَا فَإِذَا حَضَرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ فَلْيُؤَذِّنْ لَكُمْ أَحَدُكُمْ وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمْ أَكْبَرُكُمْ

English Translation
It was narrated from Malik ibn al-Huwayrith al-Laythi (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: 'We came to the Prophet ﷺ as young men and stayed with him for about twenty nights. He said to us: "If you return to your lands" — and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was compassionate — "teach them." He said: He commanded us to pray, and he described how to pray.',
