حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
لَعَلَّكُمْ تَقْرَءُونَ خَلْفَ الْإِمَامِ وَالْإِمَامُ يَقْرَأُ قَالُوا إِنَّا لَنَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَلَا تَفْعَلُوا إِلَّا أَنْ يَقْرَأَ أَحَدُكُمْ بِأُمِّ الْكِتَابِ أَوْ قَالَ فَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ

English Translation
It was narrated from a man among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Perhaps you recite behind the imam while the imam is reciting?' They said: 'Yes, we do that.' He said: 'Do not do so, except that one of you recites Umm al-Kitab' — or he said 'the Opening of the Book.'
