‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَمَّادٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏حُمَيْدٍ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏الْحَسَنِ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏الْمُهَاجِرِ بْنِ قُنْفُذٍ ‏ ‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏كَانَ يَبُولُ ‏ ‏أَوْ قَدْ بَالَ ‏ ‏فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ ‏ ‏فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيَّ حَتَّى تَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ رَدَّ عَلَيَّ ‏

English Translation

It was narrated from al-Muhajir ibn Qunfudh (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet ﷺ was urinating, or had just urinated, when he greeted him. The Prophet did not return the greeting until he had performed ablution, then he returned it.
