حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ لَمَّا مَاتَتْ زَيْنَبُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اغْسِلْنَهَا وِ
تْرًا ثَلَاثًا أَوْ خَمْسًا وَاجْعَلْنَ فِي الْخَامِسَةِ كَافُورًا أَوْ شَيْئًا مِنْ كَافُورٍ فَإِذَا غَسَّلْتُنَّهَا فَأَعْلِمْنَنِي قَالَتْ فَأَعْلَمْنَاهُ فَأَعْطَانَا حَقْوَهُ وَقَالَ أَشْعِرْنَهَا إِيَّاهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Umm 'Atiyya al-Ansariyya (may Allah be pleased with her) that when Zaynab, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, died, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to them: 'Wash her an odd number of times — three or five — and place camphor or something of camphor in the fifth. When you have washed her, inform me.' When they informed him, he gave them his waist-wrapper and said: 'Wrap her in it close to her body.'
