حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُف

ْيَانُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ يَقُولُ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَجْلِسُ بَيْنَ الْخُطْبَتَيْنِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَيَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا وَكَانَتْ صَلَاتُهُ قَصْدًا وَخُطْبَتُهُ قَصْدًا وَيَقْرَأُ آيَاتٍ مِنْ الْقُرْآنِ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ

English Translation

It was narrated from Jabir ibn Samura (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to sit between the two Friday sermons, deliver them while standing, read verses from the Quran on the minbar, and his prayer and sermon were both moderate in length.
