حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ إِس

ْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسٌ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ خَبَّابًا أَعُودُهُ وَقَدْ اكْتَوَى سَبْعًا فِي بَطْنِهِ وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ لَوْلَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَانَا أَنْ نَدْعُوَ بِالْمَوْتِ لَدَعَوْتُ بِهِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) that Qays visited him while he had been cauterized seven times in his stomach. He heard him say: 'Were it not that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from praying for death, I would have prayed for it.'
