حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ أَخْبَرَنِي عَيَّاشُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ أَبَا النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ أَنَّ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَ وَالِدَهُ سَعْدَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قَالَ فَقَالَ ل
َهُ إِنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَعْزِلُ عَنْ امْرَأَتِي قَالَ لِمَ قَالَ شَفَقًا عَلَى وَلَدِهَا أَوْ عَلَى أَوْلَادِهَا فَقَالَ إِنْ كَانَ كَذَلِكَ فَلَا مَا ضَارَّ ذَلِكَ فَارِسَ وَلَا الرُّومَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Usama ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) that he informed his father Sa'd ibn Malik that a man came to the Prophet ß and was praising him. The Prophet ß said: 'Woe to you! You have cut the neck of your companion.' The Prophet ß said: 'If any of you must praise his companion, let him say: "I think so-and-so is such and such — and Allah is his reckoner — and I do not praise anyone above Allah."'
