English Translation
It was narrated from the uncle of Kharidat ibn al-Salt (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: 'We came from the Prophet ß and passed by a tribe of Arabs. They said: "It has reached us that your companion has brought something good. Do you have anything that can cure the mad?" We had a madman in chains, so I recited Surah al-Fatiha for three days, spitting after each recitation. He recovered, and they gave us a hundred sheep. I came to the Prophet ß and told him. He said: "Take it, for by my life whoever takes for an invalid ruqyah (charm) has taken improperly, but this is not a charm of an invalid ruqyah."'
