English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Waqid al-Laythi (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: 'I said: O Messenger of Allah, we are in a land where famine strikes us — what is permissible for us from carrion?' He said: 'When you have not satisfied your hunger with something else, and you find no herbs or vegetables, then you may eat of it.'
