حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَبْ

دِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيُحْرَمُ الرِّزْقَ بِالذَّنْبِ يُصِيبُهُ وَلَا يَرُدُّ الْقَدَرَ إِلَّا الدُّعَاءُ وَلَا يَزِيدُ فِي الْعُمُرِ إِلَّا الْبِرُّ

English Translation

It was narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'A man may be deprived of provision because of a sin he commits. Nothing repels fate except supplication, and nothing increases one's lifespan except righteousness.'
