حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي هِنْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَلْحَلَةَ عَنِ ابْنٍ لِكَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ بْنِ رِبْعِيٍّ قَالَ مُرَّ عَلَى النّ
َبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِجِنَازَةٍ قَالَ مُسْتَرِيحٌ وَمُسْتَرَاحٌ مِنْهُ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا الْمُسْتَرِيحُ وَالْمُسْتَرَاحُ مِنْهُ قَالَ الْمُؤْمِنُ اسْتَرَاحَ مِنْ نَصَبِ الدُّنْيَا وَأَذَاهَا إِلَى رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَالْفَاجِرُ اسْتَرَاحَ مِنْهُ الْعِبَادُ وَالْبِلَادُ وَالشَّجَرُ وَالدَّوَابُّ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet ﷺ passed by a funeral and said: 'One who is resting and one from whom others are resting.' They asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, what is one who is resting and one from whom others are resting?' He said: 'The believing servant rests from the toil and harm of this world into the mercy of Allah the Most High. The wicked servant — the servants, the lands, the trees, and the animals are all relieved of him.'
