حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْكَلْبِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْعَطَّارُ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي بِنَا فَيَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ فِي الْأُولَيَيْنِ بِسُورَتَيْنِ وَأُمِّ الْكِتَابِ وَكَانَ يُسْمِعُنَا الْأَحْيَانَ الْآيَةَ وَفِي الْآخِرَتَيْنِ بِأُمِّ الْكِتَابِ وَكَانَ يُطِيلُ فِي أَوَّلِ رَكْعَةٍ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ وَصَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا أُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَا تَقُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْنِي
English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite al-Fatihah and two surahs in the first two rak'ahs of Zuhr prayer, making the first rak'ah longer, and in the last two rak'ahs he recited al-Fatihah only.
