حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ فَارِسِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ مِنْ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَسُورَةٍ وَفِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ
English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in the first two rak'ahs of Zuhr and 'Asr prayers, and he would make the first rak'ah longer than the second.
