حَدَّثَنَا الْهَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَنَا الْفَرَجُ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ

Body (Matn)

الْقَاسِمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بَعَثَنِي رَحْمَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَ وَهُدًى لِلْعَالَمِينَ وَأَمَرَنِي رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِمَحْقِ الْمَعَازِفِ وَالْمَزَامِيرِ وَالْأَوْثَانِ وَالصُّلُبِ وَأَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَحَلَفَ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِعِزَّتِهِ لَا يَشْرَبُ عَبْدٌ مِنْ عَبِيدِي جَرْعَةً مِنْ خَمْرٍ إِلَّا سَقَيْتُهُ مِنْ الصَّدِيدِ مِثْلَهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَغْفُورًا لَهُ أَوْ مُعَذَّبًا وَلَا يَسْقِيهَا صَبِيًّا صَغِيرًا ضَعِيفًا مُسْلِمًا إِلَّا سَقَيْتُهُ مِنْ الصَّدِيدِ مِثْلَهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَغْفُورًا لَهُ أَوْ مُعَذَّبًا وَلَا يَتْرُكُهَا مِنْ مَخَافَتِي إِلَّا سَقَيْتُهُ مِنْ حِيَاضِ الْقُدُسِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَا يَحِلُّ بَيْعُهُنَّ وَلَا شِرَاؤُهُنَّ وَلَا تَعْلِيمُهُنَّ وَلَا تِجَارَةٌ فِيهِنَّ وَثَمَنُهُنَّ حَرَامٌ يَعْنِي الضَّارِبَاتِ

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed Allah sent me as a mercy to the worlds and as guidance to the worlds. And my Lord, Mighty and Majestic, commanded me to destroy musical instruments, flutes, idols, crosses, and the affairs of pre-Islamic ignorance. My Lord, Mighty and Majestic, has sworn by His Might that no servant of Mine drinks a sip of wine except that I will give him the same amount of festering water on the Day of Resurrection — whether he is forgiven or punished. And whoever gives it to drink to a young, weak Muslim child, I will give him the same amount of festering water on the Day of Resurrection — whether forgiven or punished. And whoever abandons it out of fear of Me, I will give him to drink from the pure cisterns on the Day of Resurrection.' He said this about female musicians.
