حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَحْرٍ عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ شَدَّادٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ يَقُولُ عَادَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلّ
َمَ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ هَلْ تَدْرُونَ مَنْ الشُّهَدَاءُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا فَسَكَتُوا فَقَالَ عُبَادَةُ أَخْبِرْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ الْقَتِيلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ شَهِيدٌ وَالْمَبْطُونُ شَهِيدٌ وَالْمَطْعُونُ شَهِيدٌ وَالنُّفَسَاءُ شَهِيدٌ يَجُرُّهَا وَلَدُهَا بِسُرَرِهِ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ visited him when he was ill along with a group of companions, and asked: 'Do you know who the martyrs of my nation are?' They were silent, and 'Ubadah said: 'Tell us, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'One killed in the path of Allah is a martyr; one who dies of abdominal disease is a martyr; one who dies of plague is a martyr; and a woman who dies in childbirth — her child drags her by the umbilical cord to Paradise.'
