حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْكَوْسَجُ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ ثَوْبَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ ج
ُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ أَنَّ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ حَدَّثَهُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا عَلَى ظَهْرِ الْأَرْضِ مِنْ رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ يَدْعُو اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِدَعْوَةٍ إِلَّا آتَاهُ اللَّهُ إِيَّاهَا أَوْ كَفَّ عَنْهُ مِنْ السُّوءِ مِثْلَهَا مَا لَمْ يَدْعُ بِإِثْمٍ أَوْ قَطِيعَةِ رَحِمٍ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There is no Muslim man on the face of the earth who supplicates to Allah with a supplication except that Allah either grants it to him or wards off from him an equivalent evil — as long as he does not supplicate for something sinful or for the cutting of kinship ties.'
