Hadith #489
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا شُجَاعُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ حَدَّثَنَا
هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ عُبَادَةُ بْنُ الصَّامِتِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ جُرِحَ فِي جَسَدِهِ جِرَاحَةً فَتَصَدَّقَ بِهَا كَفَّرَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَنْهُ بِمِثْلِ مَا تَصَدَّقَ بِهِ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever sustains a wound on his body and gives it up as charity — Allah the Mighty and Majestic will expiate for him the equivalent of what he gave in charity.'
