حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحُرُّ بْنُ الصَّيَّاحِ قَالَ سُرَيْجٌ عَنِ الْحُرِّ عَنْ هُنَيْدَةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنِ امْرَأَتِهِ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْه
ِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ تِسْعَ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ وَيَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ وَثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ قَالَ عَفَّانُ أَوَّلَ اثْنَيْنِ مِنْ الشَّهْرِ وَخَمِيسَيْنِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Hunaidah ibn Khalid, from his wives (may Allah be pleased with them), that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast the first nine days of Dhu al-Hijjah, the Day of Ashura, and three days from each month. Affan said: 'The first Monday of the month and two Thursdays.'
