حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ
الْفَتْحِ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ وَصَلَّى الصَّلَوَاتِ بِوُضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّكَ فَعَلْتَ شَيْئًا لَمْ تَكُنْ تَفْعَلُهُ قَالَ إِنِّي عَمْدًا فَعَلْتُ يَا عُمَرُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet ﷺ used to perform wudu before every prayer. On the Day of the Conquest, he performed wudu and wiped over his leather socks and prayed all the prayers with one wudu. 'Umar said to him: 'O Messenger of Allah, you have done something you had not used to do.' He said: 'I did it deliberately, O 'Umar.'
