حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ وَأَبِي الدَّهْمَاءِ قَالَا أَتَيْنَا عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِن
ْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ فَقُلْنَا هَلْ سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا قَالَ نَعَمْ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ إِنَّكَ لَنْ تَدَعَ شَيْئًا لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَّا بَدَّلَكَ اللَّهُ بِهِ مَا هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنْهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Qatadah and Abu al-Dahma' that they came upon a man from the bedouins and asked: 'Have you heard anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' He said: 'Yes, I heard him say: You will never leave something for the sake of Allah, Almighty and Majestic, except that Allah will replace it for you with something better.'
