حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي ضَمْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الل
َّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنْ الْعَقِيقَةِ فَقَالَ لَا أُحِبُّ الْعُقُوقَ كَأَنَّهُ كَرِهَ الِاسْمَ وَقَالَ مَنْ وُلِدَ لَهُ فَأَحَبَّ أَنْ يَنْسُكَ عَنْ وَلَدِهِ فَلْيَفْعَلْ

English Translation
It was narrated from a man from Banu Damrah from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the aqiqah. He said: 'I do not like disobedience' — as if he disliked the word — and said: 'Whoever has a child born to him and wishes to sacrifice on behalf of his child, let him do so.'
