حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ مَوْلًى لِرِبْعِيٍّ عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ عَنْ ح

ُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جُلُوسًا فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَا أَدْرِي مَا قَدْرُ بَقَائِي فِيكُمْ فَاقْتَدُوا بِاللَّذَيْنِ مِنْ بَعْدِي وَأَشَارَ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَتَمَسَّكُوا بِعَهْدِ عَمَّارٍ وَمَا حَدَّثَكُمْ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ فَصَدِّقُوهُ

English Translation

It was narrated from Hudhayfa ibn al-Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: 'We were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when he said: "I do not know how long I will remain among you, so follow the two who come after me" — and he pointed to Abu Bakr and Umar — "and hold firmly to the covenant of Ammar, and whatever Ibn Masud tells you, believe him."'
