English Translation
It was narrated from Hudhayfa (may Allah be pleased with him) through Ibn Abi Layla that Hudhayfa was in al-Mada'in when a village headman brought him a silver cup. He took it and threw it at him, saying: 'I only did this because I had already forbidden him and he did not stop. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade me from drinking from vessels of gold and silver, and from silk and brocade, and said: "They are for them in this world and for you in the Hereafter."'
