حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ أَنَّ الْمُشْر

ِكِينَ أَخَذُوهُ وَأَبَاهُ فَأَخَذُوا عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ لَا يُقَاتِلُوهُمْ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَوَالِهِمْ وَنَسْتَعِينُ اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِمْ

English Translation
It was narrated from Hudhayfa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the polytheists captured him and his father and made them pledge not to fight against them on the day of Badr. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Honour your pledge to them, and we shall seek Allah's help against them.'
