English Translation

It was narrated from Hudhayfa (may Allah be pleased with him) through Ibn Abi Layla that Hudhayfa asked for water to drink and someone brought him a silver vessel. He threw it at him, saying: 'I had already forbidden him and he refused to stop. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from drinking from vessels of gold and silver, and from wearing silk and brocade, and said: "These are for them in this world and for you in the Hereafter."'
