حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنَا قَالَ سَمِعْتُ صِلَةَ بْنَ زُف
َرَ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِأَهْلِ نَجْرَانَ لَأَبْعَثَنَّ إِلَيْكُمْ رَجُلًا أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ قَالَهَا أَكْثَرَ مِنْ مَرَّتَيْنِ فَاسْتَشْرَفَ لَهَا النَّاسُ فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Hudhayfa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the people of Najran: 'I will certainly send to you a man who is truly, truly trustworthy' — he said it more than twice. The people craned their necks hoping to be chosen. Then he sent Abu Ubayda (may Allah be pleased with him).
