English Translation
It was narrated from Hudhayfa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'I met Jibril (peace be upon him) at the stones of al-Mira. I said: "O Jibril, I have been sent to a people who are unlettered — the man and the woman, the young boy and the young girl, and the very old man who has never read a scripture." He said: "The Quran has been revealed in seven modes (ahruf)."'
