حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْعَدَنِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ قَالَ
رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَقْرَءُونَ وَالْإِمَامُ يَقْرَأُ قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا قَالُوا إِنَّا لَنَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَلَا تَفْعَلُوا إِلَّا أَنْ يَقْرَأَ أَحَدُكُمْ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ

English Translation
It was narrated from a man among the Companions of Muhammad ﷺ that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Perhaps some of you are reciting while the imam is reciting?' He said it three times. They said: 'We do indeed.' He said: 'Do not do so, except that one of you should recite al-Fatiha.'
