حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ

عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا بَدَّنَ وَثَقُلَ يَقْرَأُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فَإِذَا غَبَرَ مِنْ السُّورَةِ ثَلَاثُونَ أَوْ أَرْبَعُونَ آيَةً قَامَ فَقَرَأَهَا ثُمَّ سَجَدَ

English Translation

It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: 'When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ grew old and became heavy, he would recite whatever Allah willed while seated. When thirty or forty verses of the surah remained, he would stand and recite them, then prostrate.'
