English Translation
It was narrated from Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (رضي الله عنه) who said: We came with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and passed by the mosque of Banu Mu'awiyah. He entered and prayed two rak'ahs, and we prayed with him. He spoke privately to his Lord for a long time, then said: 'I asked my Lord for three things. He granted me two and withheld one. I asked Him not to destroy my ummah with famine, and He granted it. I asked Him not to destroy my ummah by drowning, and He granted it. And I asked Him not to make their might against one another, but He withheld it.'
