حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يِسَافٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ ظَالِمٍ قَالَ خَطَبَ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ فَنَالَ مِنْ عَلِيٍّ فَخَرَجَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ فَقَالَ أَلَا ت
َعْجَبُ مِنْ هَذَا يَسُبُّ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَشْهَدُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّا كُنَّا عَلَى حِرَاءٍ أَوْ أُحُدٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اثْبُتْ حِرَاءُ أَوْ أُحُدُ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ صِدِّيقٌ أَوْ شَهِيدٌ فَسَمَّى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْعَشَرَةَ فَسَمَّى أَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ وَعَلِيًّا وَطَلْحَةَ وَالزُّبَيْرَ وَسَعْدًا وَعَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ وَسَمَّى نَفْسَهُ سَعِيدًا

English Translation
'Abdullah ibn Zalim said: Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah gave a sermon and disparaged 'Ali (رضي الله عنه). Sa'id ibn Zayd (رضي الله عنه) came out and said: 'Are you not amazed at this man who curses 'Ali (رضي الله عنه)? I bear witness upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that we were on Mount Hira' — or Uhud — and the Prophet ﷺ said: Be still, O Hira' — or Uhud — for upon you is none but a siddiq (truthful one) or a shahid (martyr). the Prophet ﷺ then named the ten: Abu Bakr, 'Umar, 'Uthman, 'Ali, Talhah, al-Zubayr, Sa'd, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf, and he named himself — Sa'id.'
