حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ ن
ُفَيْلٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ سَرَقَ مِنْ الْأَرْضِ شِبْرًا طُوِّقَهُ مِنْ سَبْعِ أَرَضِينَ قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ وَبَلَغَنِي عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ مِنْهُ زَادَ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ وَمَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَالِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ

English Translation
Sa'id ibn Zayd ibn 'Amr ibn Nufayl (رضي الله عنه) heard the Prophet ﷺ saying: 'Whoever steals even a hand-span of land will have it hung around his neck from seven earths.' Ma'mar said: 'It reached me from al-Zuhri — though I did not hear it directly from him — that he added to this hadith: And whoever is killed defending his wealth is a martyr.'
