حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ يَعْنِي عَبْد اللَّهِ وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَذَهَبَ
النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِحَاجَتِهِ فَأَدْرَكَهُمْ وَقْتُ الصَّلَاةِ فَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ فَتَقَدَّمَهُمْ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَصَلَّى مَعَ النَّاسِ خَلْفَهُ رَكْعَةً فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَالَ أَصَبْتُمْ أَوْ أَحْسَنْتُمْ

English Translation
Abu Salamah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The Shaytan is present with each of you in all his affairs, even with his food. So when a morsel falls from any of you, let him remove whatever is on it [of dirt] and eat it, and not leave it for the Shaytan. And when he finishes, let him lick his fingers, for he does not know in which part of his food the blessing lies.'
