حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ أَبَا الرَّدَّادِ اللَّيْثِيَّ أَ
خْبَرَهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنْ اسْمِي اسْمًا فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from al-Zuhri, Abu Salamah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to me that Abu al-Raddad al-Laythi informed him, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf (رضي الله عنه), that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Allah (عز وجل) said: I am al-Rahman (the Most Merciful). I created al-rahim (the ties of kinship) and derived a name for it from My Name. Whoever maintains it, I will maintain ties with him, and whoever severs it, I will sever ties with him.'
