حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ أَبَا الرَّدَّادِ اللَّيْث
ِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنَا الرَّحْمَنُ وَأَنَا خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَاشْتَقَقْتُ لَهَا مِنْ اسْمِي فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلَهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا بَتَتُّهُ

English Translation
Bishr ibn Shu'ayb ibn Abi Hamzah narrated to us, my father narrated to me, from al-Zuhri, Abu Salamah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to me that Abu al-Raddad al-Laythi informed him, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf (رضي الله عنه), that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Allah (عز وجل) said: I am al-Rahman, and I created al-rahim (the ties of kinship) and derived its name from My Name. Whoever maintains it, Allah will maintain ties with him, and whoever severs it, I will sever ties with him.'
