حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَالِكٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ أَجَارَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
رَجُلًا وَعَلَى الْجَيْشِ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ فَقَالَ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ وَعَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ لَا نُجِيرُهُ وَقَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ نُجِيرُهُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ يُجِيرُ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَحَدُهُمْ

English Translation
Isma'il ibn 'Umar narrated to us, Isra'il narrated to us, from al-Hajjaj ibn Arta'ah, from al-Walid ibn Abi Malik, from al-Qasim, from Abu Umamah (رضي الله عنه), who said: A man from the Muslims granted protection to a man, and Abu 'Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah (رضي الله عنه) was the commander of the army. Khalid ibn al-Walid and 'Amr ibn al-'As said: 'We do not grant him protection.' But Abu 'Ubaidah said: 'We grant him protection, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: The protection granted by one Muslim applies to all of them.'
