حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ دَاوُدَ عَنْ عَامِرٍ قَالَ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَيْشَ ذَاتِ السُّلَاسِلِ فَاسْتَعْمَلَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ عَلَى الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَاسْتَعْمَلَ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ عَلَى الْأَعْرَابِ فَقَالَ لَهُمَا تَطَاوَعَا قَالَ وَكَانُوا يُؤْمَرُونَ أَنْ يُغِيرُوا عَلَى بَكْرٍ فَانْطَلَقَ عَمْرٌو فَأَغَارَ عَلَى قُضَاعَةَ
لِأَنَّ بَكْرًا أَخْوَالُهُ فَانْطَلَقَ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ إِلَى أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اسْتَعْمَلَكَ عَلَيْنَا وَإِنَّ ابْنَ فُلَانٍ قَدْ ارْتَبَعَ أَمْرَ الْقَوْمِ وَلَيْسَ لَكَ مَعَهُ أَمْرٌ فَقَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَتَطَاوَعَ فَأَنَا أُطِيعُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِنْ عَصَاهُ عَمْرٌو
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Abi 'Adi narrated to us, from Dawud, from 'Amir, who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ dispatched the army of Dhat al-Salasil. He appointed Abu 'Ubaidah (رضي الله عنه) over the Muhajirun and 'Amr ibn al-'As over the Bedouins. He said to them: 'Cooperate with each other.' They were ordered to raid [the tribe of] Bakr. 'Amr went and raided Quda'ah instead, because Bakr were his maternal uncles. Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah went to Abu 'Ubaidah and said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed you over us, yet the son of so-and-so has seized command of the army, and you have no authority alongside him.' Abu 'Ubaidah said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered us to cooperate with each other, so I will obey the Messenger of Allah ﷺ even if 'Amr disobeys him.'
