Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَحْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَنْ عَبْدَ الْحَمِيدِ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ دَعَا مُوسَى بْنَ طَلْحَةَ حِينَ عَرَّسَ عَلَى ابْنِهِ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا عِيسَى كَيْفَ بَلَغَكَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَا
لَ مُوسَى سَأَلْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ خَارِجَةَ عَنْ الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ زَيْدٌ إِنِّي سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنَفْسِي فَقُلْتُ كَيْفَ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَيْكَ قَالَ صَلُّوا وَاجْتَهِدُوا ثُمَّ قُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ

English Translation
'Ali ibn Bahr narrated to us, 'Isa ibn Yunus narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn Hakim narrated to us, Khalid ibn Salamah narrated to us, that 'Abd al-Hamid ibn 'Abd al-Rahman invited Musa ibn Talhah when he held a wedding feast for his son. He said: 'O Abu 'Isa, what has reached you about sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ?' Musa said: 'I asked Zayd ibn Kharijah about sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ.' Zayd said: 'I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ myself, and I said: How do we send blessings upon you? He said: Pray and strive, then say: O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You blessed Ibrahim. You are the Praiseworthy, the Glorious.'
