Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَعْدٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَكَانَ يَخْدُمُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْجِبُهُ خِدْمَتُهُ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا
بَكْرٍ أَعْتِقْ سَعْدًا فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا لَنَا مَاهِنٌ غَيْرُهُ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْتِقْ سَعْدًا أَتَتْكَ الرِّجَالُ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ يَعْنِي السَّبْيَ

English Translation
Sulayman ibn Dawud narrated to us, Abu 'Amir narrated to us, from al-Hasan, from Sa'd the freed slave of Abu Bakr, who used to serve the Prophet ﷺ. the Prophet ﷺ was pleased with his service. He said: 'O Abu Bakr, free Sa'd.' Abu Bakr said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we have no other servant.' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Free Sa'd; men will come to you,' meaning captives. Abu Dawud said: meaning the war captives.
