Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ هُوَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنَا بُرَيْدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَوْرَاءِ قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَ حَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ فَسُئِلَ مَا عَقَلْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَمْشِي مَعَهُ فَمَرَّ عَلَى جَرِينٍ مِنْ تَمْرِ الصّ
َدَقَةِ فَأَخَذْتُ تَمْرَةً فَأَلْقَيْتُهَا فِي فِيَّ فَأَدْخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُصْبُعَهُ فِي فِيَّ فَأَخْرَجَهَا بِلُعَابِي فَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ وَمَا عَلَيْكَ لَوْ تَرَكْتَهَا قَالَ إِنَّا آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ لَا تَحِلُّ لَنَا الصَّدَقَةُ قَالَ وَعَقَلْتُ مِنْهُ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسَ

English Translation
Abu Ahmad, al-Zubayri, narrated to us, al-'Ala' ibn Salih narrated to us, Burayd ibn Abi Maryam narrated to us, from Abu al-Hawra', who said: We were with al-Hasan ibn 'Ali (رضي الله عنهما), and he was asked: 'What do you remember from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, or about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' He said: 'I was walking with him, and we passed by a drying yard of charity dates. I took a date and put it in my mouth. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ put his finger in my mouth and took it out with my saliva. Some of the people said: What would it have mattered if you had left it? He said: We, the family of Muhammad, charity is not lawful for us.' He said: 'And I remember from him the five daily prayers.'
