حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ بُرَيْدَ بْنَ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَوْرَاءِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ مَا تَذْكُرُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَذْكُرُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنِّي أَخَذْتُ تَمْرَةً مِنْ ت
َمْرِ الصَّدَقَةِ فَجَعَلْتُهَا فِي فِيَّ قَالَ فَنَزَعَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِلُعَابِهَا فَجَعَلَهَا فِي التَّمْرِ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا كَانَ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ هَذِهِ التَّمْرَةِ لِهَذَا الصَّبِيِّ قَالَ وَإِنَّا آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ لَا تَحِلُّ لَنَا الصَّدَقَةُ

English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us. He said: I heard Burayd ibn Abi Maryam narrating from Abu al-Hawra', who said: I said to al-Hasan ibn 'Ali (رضي الله عنهما): 'What do you remember from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' He said: 'I remember from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that I took a date from the charity dates and put it in my mouth. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pulled it out with its saliva and put it back among the dates.' It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what would it have mattered regarding this date for this child?' He said: 'We, the family of Muhammad, charity is not lawful for us.'
