أَنْبَأَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ شَيْبَانَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِلْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مَا تَعْقِلُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللّ
َهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ صَعِدْتُ مَعَهُ غُرْفَةَ الصَّدَقَةِ فَأَخَذْتُ تَمْرَةً فَلُكْتُهَا فِي فِيَّ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلْقِهَا فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَحِلُّ لَنَا الصَّدَقَةُ

English Translation
Waki' informed us, Thabit ibn 'Umarah narrated to us, from Rabi'ah ibn Shayban, who said: I said to al-Husayn ibn 'Ali (رضي الله عنهما): 'What do you remember from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' He said: 'I went up with him to the room where the charity was stored, and I took a date and chewed it in my mouth. the Prophet ﷺ said: Throw it out, for charity is not lawful for us.'
