حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ أَنَّهُ زَوَّجَ ابْنَتَهُ مِنْ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ فَقَالَ لَهَا إِذَا دَخَلَ بِكِ فَقُولِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبّ
ِ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ وَزَعَمَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا حَزَبَهُ أَمْرٌ قَالَ هَذَا قَالَ حَمَّادٌ ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فَلَمْ يَصِلْ إِلَيْهَا

English Translation
'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Rafi', from 'Abdullah ibn Ja'far (رضي الله عنهما), that he married his daughter to al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf. He said to her: 'When he enters upon you, say: There is no god but Allah, the Forbearing, the Generous. Glory be to Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne. All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.' He claimed that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, whenever something distressed him, would say this. Hammad said: I believe he said: And al-Hajjaj was not able to reach her [i.e., the marriage was not consummated].
