Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ
الْمُطَّلِبِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عَمُّكَ أَبُو طَالِبٍ كَانَ يَحُوطُكَ وَيَنْفَعُكَ قَالَ إِنَّهُ فِي ضَحْضَاحٍ مِنْ النَّارِ وَلَوْلَا أَنَا كَانَ فِي الدَّرْكِ الْأَسْفَلِ مِنْ النَّارِ

English Translation
Waki' narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Umayr, from 'Abdullah ibn al-Harith, from al-'Abbas ibn 'Abd al-Muttalib (رضي الله عنه), who said: 'O Messenger of Allah, your uncle Abu Talib used to protect you and support you.' He said: 'He is in a shallow pool of Fire. Were it not for me, he would be in the lowest depth of the Fire.'
